Job Overview

Magna-Power Electronics is seeking a full-time Fall / Spring Computer Science Co-Op to work on their code bases. Responsibilities

  • Work on a large project, with the opportunity to support side projects
  • Collaborate with seasoned programmers and engineers
  • Develop and test software for managing materials, automating manufacturing processes, and validating firmware
  • Create customer-facing software, including emulators and GUIs
  • Review and revise code before release
  • Ensure the highest level of quality and adherence to guidelines

Requirements

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for learning
  • High proficiency in either Python or JavaScript
  • Familiarity with SQL, especially PostgreSQL and SQLite
  • Knowledge of modern development and collaboration tools such as SVN, GIT, and Issue Tracking
  • Experience with Linux and Windows Operating Systems
  • Familiarity with computer communication protocols (TCP/IP, Serial, etc.)
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools, frameworks, and languages
  • Capability to work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
