Job Overview
Magna-Power Electronics is seeking a full-time Fall / Spring Computer Science Co-Op to work on their code bases. Responsibilities
- Work on a large project, with the opportunity to support side projects
- Collaborate with seasoned programmers and engineers
- Develop and test software for managing materials, automating manufacturing processes, and validating firmware
- Create customer-facing software, including emulators and GUIs
- Review and revise code before release
- Ensure the highest level of quality and adherence to guidelines
Requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for learning
- High proficiency in either Python or JavaScript
- Familiarity with SQL, especially PostgreSQL and SQLite
- Knowledge of modern development and collaboration tools such as SVN, GIT, and Issue Tracking
- Experience with Linux and Windows Operating Systems
- Familiarity with computer communication protocols (TCP/IP, Serial, etc.)
- Ability to quickly learn new tools, frameworks, and languages
- Capability to work independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
