Responsibilities

• Properly follow all company policies and safety regulations
• Spend time at aggregates, asphalt, and ready mix plants to learn production fundamentals
• Estimate and plan plant production requirements
• Learn scheduling process to meet customer and internal demands
• Understand compliance requirements to meet federal and state regulations
• Perform equipment preventative maintenance and scheduling
• Conduct quality control/quality assurance for asphalt, aggregates, and ready mix
• Learn material specification requirements for products
• Support company's safety goals and processes
• Gain in-depth understanding of bidding and execution of construction
• Work in field operations for heavy construction and paving
• Understand crew and scheduling efficiency to achieve project goals
• Understand project profitability and material pricing
• Manage customer issues
• Learn accounts receivable and billing
• Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required
• Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and criminal background check
• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures
• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist with additional duties as required
• Must maintain current driver’s license that meets state requirements
• Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required
• Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary
• Must wear personal protective equipment in designated areas
• Compliance with all OSHA and MSHA regulations
• Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, moving mechanical parts, high places, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock or burn
• Noise level in some areas may be loud, but typically moderate
• Able to use hands and fingers, talk, hear, stand, walk, and sit
• Occasionally required to climb, crawl, kneel, and bend
