Job Overview

The Health Foundation of Greater Indianapolis, Inc. is currently accepting applications for our 2023-2024 AmeriCorps program. As an AmeriCorps member, you will support local efforts to respond and prevent health-related issues, particularly focusing on the HIV/HCV Epidemic, Covid-19 Recovery, and racial inequities. This is a full-time position for a one-year term, from September 2023 to July 2024. We encourage candidates from various backgrounds with an interest in Medicine, Public Health, Social Work, Sociology, Gender Studies, Harm Reduction, and more to apply.

Compensation

  • Modest living stipend for the year, up to $20,000

  • Segal AmeriCorps Education Award (Full-Time Member: $6,895 as of January 2023)

Responsibilities

  • Support local efforts to respond and prevent health-related issues such as HIV/HCV Epidemic, Covid-19 Recovery, and racial inequities
  • Assist in reducing health disparities in communities served
  • Gain professional public health experience

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Interest in Medicine, Public Health, Social Work, Sociology, Gender Studies, Harm Reduction, etc.
  • Individuals with lived experience including HIV, Hepatitis C, previous substance use, and/or minority backgrounds (LGBTQ+, Black/African-American, and LatinX) are encouraged to apply
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the beginning of the program year
  • United States citizen or permanent legal resident
  • Available to begin service in early-August 2023
