Job Overview

Mecum Auction, Inc. is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our five-person accounting team. As the Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing and processing vendor invoices, managing auction payouts, developing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely communication of outstanding A/P items. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment, and excellent communication skills.

Compensation

  • Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Review and process vendor invoices, assigning appropriate general ledger codes, and setting up payments either by check or electronically.
  • Organize and distribute seller checks for auction payouts, address inquiries, and research discrepancies.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships, monitor vendor statements, and provide necessary responses.
  • Ensure effective communication of outstanding A/P items and escalate as needed.
  • Manage corporate credit card transactions, including data entry, analysis of irregularities, and receipt management.

  • Proficient in Excel and Google Sheets
  • Background in Netsuite preferred but not required
  • 2 years of Accounts Payable or general Accounting experience required
  • Associates course taken in Accounting preferred
