Job Overview

  • Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our Public Policy and Advocacy office in Washington, DC.
  • As an intern, you will have the opportunity to promote public policies and research on critical issues facing girls, while mobilizing support from Girl Scout councils and other youth serving organizations in grassroots advocacy.
  • You will assist in research, drafting policy memoranda, implementing congressional briefings, creating advocacy materials, attending hearings and briefings, developing content for publication and websites, tracking legislation, and participating in national coalition meetings.
  • This is a hybrid position that includes both in-person and virtual work.

Compensation

  • $15/hour

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on girl-focused issues
  • Draft policy memoranda
  • Assist in the implementation of congressional briefings
  • Help create advocacy materials
  • Attend congressional hearings and briefings
  • Develop content for publication and websites
  • Track relevant legislation
  • Participate in various national coalition meetings

Requirements

  • Excellent research ability, writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work both in-person and virtually
