Job Overview

Cultivating Connections MT (CCMT) is a nonprofit educational organization that provides real career skills in Agriculture and Culinary Arts. Our programs aim to empower youth, grow food, share knowledge, foster well-being, provide mentorship and career training, and bring people together through education, participation, and celebration. As a Summer Youth Farm Intern Mentor, you will be responsible for mentoring our Youth Farm Interns, teaching them real-world career skills in the Culinary Arts, planning and preparing meals using all-organic and local produce from the farm, and building relationships with the surrounding community through food and the mission of CCMT.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor Youth Farm Interns to plan and execute weekly soup and salad preparations for Meals on Wheels
  • Oversee youth in the kitchen while teaching them real-world career skills in the Culinary Arts
  • Plan recipes and cook daily staff lunch meals using all-organic and local produce from the farm
  • Connect with the surrounding community and build relationships through food and the mission of CCMT
  • Aid CCMT Youth Farm Interns and staff in the development of meals, snacks, and beverages for community-building events
  • Develop entrepreneurial and problem-solving skills through one hands-on project related to community, youth engagement, and culinary arts
  • Serve as a college-positive role model and encourage youth to pursue post-secondary education

  • Permits working at another job during off hours
