Job Overview

Join the Customs and Border Protection Office of Information and Technology to utilize your expertise in information security systems, policies, and procedures. As an Information Technology Specialist (Security), you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals, supporting the protection of IT systems.

Compensation

This position offers a salary range starting from $94,199.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $172,075.00 (GS-14, Step 10). The specific grade level will be determined by the hiring official at the time of selection.

Responsibilities

  • Investigating, analyzing, and responding to cyber incidents within a network environment to identify possible threats to network security
  • Ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the development and implementation of information systems security programs
  • Providing technical advice and guidance to management officials in the application of technology to agency mission and programs
  • Conducting information system security analysis to determine and document appropriate security requirements
  • Analyzing events within cyber defense tools to mitigate threats and develop content

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with Selective Service
  • Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years
  • Must pass a background investigation
  • Must adhere to government ethics standards and criminal conflict of interest statutes
