Job Overview

We are seeking a Marketing and Public Relations Assistant to join the Wilson Center and Wilma Daniels Gallery team. In this role, you will assist in design, social media, marketing, and public relations efforts. Additionally, you will support Wilson Center assessment initiatives.

Compensation

  • $17.00 Hourly

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with the CFCC Marketing Office for all marketing and public relations procedures and projects
  • Monitor the appropriate use of the college and center's names, marketing brands, trademarks, etc.
  • Coordinate and manage inventory of marketing-related equipment
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with audiences using traditional and innovative communication techniques
  • Coordinate publicity, photography/videography, and generate media exposure
  • Assist in planning and implementing group sales marketing and special audience engagement events
  • Oversee design and distribution for all print pieces
  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining social media accounts
  • Create visual aspects of Wilson Center using technology and creativity
  • Support marketing copy and strategies in digital media
  • Maintain virtual community calendars and presences
  • Maintain Center archives
  • Support membership and ad marketing
  • Provide exceptional customer service during events
  • Educate and enforce guidelines for Volunteer Corps
  • Maintain a clean driving record for operating vehicles

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Creative Cloud)
  • Familiarity with current trends, research, and development in marketing
  • Understanding of industry-specific requirements, technology, and equipment
  • Knowledge of North Carolina traffic laws and driving rules
  • Ability to interpret and apply CFCC goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Ability to lift up to 50 or more pounds
  • Exceptional customer service skills, even in stressful situations
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Assist in training and supervision
  • Work independently with sound judgment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in creating and maintaining accurate records and reports
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations
  • Availability to work weekends and/or evening hours as required
  • Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties
  • Maintain mental capacity for making sound decisions and working in a fast-paced environment
