Job Overview
The Staff Accountant performs a wide variety of accounting duties primarily within the Accounts Receivable function as well as aiding in the preparation and ongoing maintenance of the DART financial statements.
Compensation
Competitive salary based on experience
Responsibilities
- Prepare invoicing for multiple streams of revenue related to transit services
- Reconcile bank accounts and balance bank to GL
- Assist in preparation of DARTs annual audit
- Resolve customer billing issues and prepare monthly aging report
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements
- Record, post, and balance cash receipts ledger
- Review and problem solve to ensure Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables are balanced to the GL
- Responsible for DART collections exceeding 60 days of invoice
- Collaborate with departments on cash to farebox reporting comparison and tracking
- Process payroll taxes, ACH transfers, and bank transfers
- Review and assist with Reception Desk when needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 1-3 years of professional, intermediate-level accounting experience
- Knowledge of government accounting preferred
- Proficiency in personal computer applications, including spreadsheets and databases
