Job Overview

The Development Assistant at Conservation Law Foundation (CLF) will play a crucial role in supporting CLF's development program. As an integral member of the development team, you will collaborate with various staff members and departments to ensure the success and mission fulfillment of CLF. This is a full-time non-exempt position.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $54,000 (actual salary will reflect experience and qualifications)

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Accurately and promptly record all gifts in Raiser's Edge database, as well as generate and track donor acknowledgement letters.
  • Maintain donor files and update biographical information in the database. Assist with other data entry and database clean-up projects.
  • Provide excellent customer service for phone inquiries to the development office. Support CLF Board members, staff, and donors in their interactions with the department. Prepare donor relations communications as needed.
  • Keep track of daily checks received and collaborate with the finance department on check processing and gift entry.
  • Coordinate production and mailing of solicitation letters and other materials.
  • Serve as a liaison between development and office managers in other states for administrative and development issues.
  • Manage administrative tasks such as filing expense reports, scheduling meetings, and assisting with details. Proactively handle external accounts and application renewals.
  • Assist in the preparation for and staffing of development events, including receptions, dinners, and lectures.
  • Perform other necessary administrative duties.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience providing administrative support.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills, both oral and written communication.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. Familiarity with fundraising and communications databases is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to take initiative, solve problems, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enthusiasm for environmental issues or a background in environmental studies or advocacy is a plus.
