Job Overview

Family Services is looking for a skilled writer and analytical thinker to join our team as an Analyst. You will work closely with executives, managers, and other team members to streamline business processes and increase program and agency productivity. In addition, you may also take on a leadership role to oversee the implementation of your ideas and ensure their success.

Responsibilities

• Grant/Fund Development:

  • Research and assess funding opportunities for the organization
  • Engage with funders to build relationships and opportunities for funding
  • Design, write, and submit grant proposals for private and government funders
  • Write, submit, and track letters of intent
  • Coordinate with staff teams to plan, budget, write, and submit proposals
  • Brainstorm and strategize funding opportunities with program managers and staff
  • Coordinate with fiscal staff to create budgets for grant submission
  • Collaborate with division directors and program managers to design supporting documents for grants and programs
  • Maintain registration and current passwords for grants administration

• Grants Compliance, Contracts, and Administration:

  • Maintain records and files of grant application submissions
  • Review contracts and maintain documentation for grant awards and contract addendum
  • Track and notify program managers and fiscal staff of grant awards, timeframes, and contract details
  • Orient program managers and team leads post-grant awards
  • Provide support to division directors and program managers with contract compliance
  • Assist division directors with government grant compliance
  • Coordinate site visits from funders and interact with funding agency representatives
  • Support fiscal and program teams by coordinating compliance of sub-recipient/sub-award agencies
  • Support entry and management of submissions, awards, and reports in the agency database
  • Adhere to policies related to HIPAA, confidentiality, information sharing, and appropriate use of agency client database

Requirements

• Education: Four-year college degree or business college certification or sufficient combination of education and experience to demonstrate competency in grants management or nonprofit program management or fund development
• Experience: Two years’ experience in community engagement, grant/fund development, or experience with a non-profit agency in an administration or direct support position, preferably in social service, health, or education-related agency. Non-profit finance or reporting experience. Must be computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Knowledge of foundation and government funding agencies, knowledge of budgeting procedures/methodology, and a thorough understanding of the legal, administrative, and operational needs of nonprofit organizations are highly desirable.
• Transportation: California Driver’s License, availability of automobile for business use, and at least minimum auto liability insurance as required by law.
