Job Overview

The Office of Economic Empowerment (OEE) is seeking a creative Marketing and Communications Fellow to support the outreach and marketing efforts of the department. In this full-time role, you will have the opportunity to oversee the creation and daily management of an Instagram account for the office and develop graphic designs for digital and print projects. This position has a particular focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. If you have experience managing social media accounts and creating graphic designs with Adobe Create Cloud products, Canva, or related software, this fellowship will help you develop a skillset in marketing and content creation. This is a full-time role from June through Mid-August with the potential for extension.

Compensation

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the creation of an Instagram account for the office.
  • Manage the daily content of the Instagram account once it’s live and assist with other social media needs as assigned.
  • Assist in designing assets for social media and physical materials like flyers, rack cards, and other promotional materials.
  • Create videos for social media and YouTube.
  • Support the Marketing Officer in developing internal communication guidelines and best practices regarding DEI efforts.
  • Work with external design vendors to request branded materials like logos and other designs.
  • Assist the Marketing Officer with weekly social media copy across multiple platforms.
  • Assist staff by promoting their events and programs through various digital venues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current student of a 4-year undergraduate or graduate program studying Communication, Marketing, Graphic Design, or any field relating to our office’s mission.
  • Interest in economic empowerment and financial education.
  • Prior experience supporting DEI initiatives.
  • Basic to intermediate Adobe Creative Suite skills.
  • Basic to intermediate photo and video skills.
  • Experience with Canva or any related software.
