Job Overview

We are a boutique immigration law office located in the city of Covina. We are seeking a passionate and self-motivated Legal Writing Specialist to enhance attorney effectiveness by providing research and writing support. Previous experience is a plus but not required, as we are willing to train the right candidate.

Compensation

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour Benefits:

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Responsibilities

  • Work under attorney's supervision to prepare initial drafts of briefs and filing documents
  • Proofread business plans, affidavits, and other legal documents
  • Collaborate with attorney to draft blog articles on immigration law developments or explain legal concepts in layman's terms
  • Prepare and update template documents
  • Assist with ad hoc projects, including organizing filing documents

Requirements

Qualifications and Required Skills:

  • Bachelor degree in English, political science, or related field (pre-law students welcome)
  • 1+ year of hands-on writing or editing experience preferred
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and problem-solve effectively
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of immigration law is a plus, but not required
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
