Job Overview
Meritage Homes, a top 10 builder specializing in energy-efficient homes and communities, is seeking future leaders for its summer 2024 Purchasing Internship program. As an intern, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of residential construction procurement in a production environment. This includes analyzing product budgets, reviewing base house costs, negotiating with vendors/contracts, and participating in cross-functional projects. Join us to immerse yourself in our business, establish a network, and develop your skills while having fun.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with internal business leaders to learn about the homebuilding industry and Meritage's business model
- Gain practical experience in a functional area such as construction, land, marketing, operations, purchasing, finance, or human resources
- Embrace Meritage's core values and understand their impact on decision-making
- Apply classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios during the internship
- Collaborate on cross-functional projects with other interns and business leaders to tackle current challenges
- Present business recommendations to senior leadership to contribute to our strategy
- Complete a paper focusing on your internship experience or another assigned topic
Requirements
