Job Overview

This is a 10-week summer internship position with our Outpatient Medical and Research (OM&R) FP&A team. The Intern, Business FP&A will join Ventas's OM&R FP&A group to gain healthcare industry experience and develop financial analysis skills. The intern will work on select special projects, conducting targeted analysis into key defining variables that drive business growth and enhanced profitability. The outcome of these projects may have a material impact on how the business operates, potentially leading to a presentation to senior leadership. Candidates are expected to be intellectually curious, highly collaborative, and goal-oriented. Prior real estate or healthcare experience is not required.

Responsibilities

The Intern, Business FP&A will be responsible for:

  • Developing analysis in collaboration with the OM&R FP&A team to gain insights into the growing OM&R segment
  • Incorporating relevant business drivers and industry benchmarking analysis for a better understanding of relative performance, where appropriate
  • Initiating the creation of a road map to institutionalize new knowledge into the company's data warehouse for ongoing analysis and further research
  • Potentially presenting key findings to senior management
  • Completing other special projects as needed

Requirements

  • Successful completion of several finance, accounting, or economics courses
  • Currently enrolled as a junior at a four-year accredited college or university in a relevant course of study or MBA program graduating in 2025
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flows) and strong quantitative skills
  • Ability to work with deadlines and manage multiple tasks and relationships in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
  • A confident self-starter and quick learner who can operate with minimal supervision, is comfortable with ambiguity, and is very adaptable
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Full-time availability for a minimum of 10 weeks during Summer 2024
