Job Title Security Engineering Intern - External Attack Surface Management

Job Location Remote

Job Overview As a Security Engineering Intern - External Attack Surface Management at Experian, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the EASM team on design and initiatives to support strategic efforts. You will monitor, analyze, and report metrics of EASM and integrated services, as well as support identification and triage for daily tactical operations. Your role will also involve maintaining and strengthening the EASM program efficacy through evaluation, analysis, documentation, and recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the EASM team on design and initiatives to support strategic efforts
  • Monitor, analyze, and report metrics of EASM and integrated services
  • Support identification and triage for daily tactical operations
  • Maintain and strengthen EASM program efficacy through evaluation, analysis, documentation, and recommendations

Requirements

  • Familiarity with common web vulnerabilities including: XSS, XXE, SQL Injection, Deserialization Attacks, Path Traversal Attacks, Remote Execution Flaws, and Authentication Flaws
  • Understanding of common web application frameworks and web-based APIs
  • Familiarity with one or more scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Perl, PowerShell, etc.
  • Familiarity with networking standards and protocols: IPv4 IPv6, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTPS, TLS, BGP, Firewalls and NAT, SMTP, VPN, ICMP, SSH, IPSec, etc.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability and configuration scanning tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud security controls across IaaS, PaaS, as SaaS models.
  • Familiarity with containers, container orchestration systems, and methods for securing containerized workloads.
  • Familiarity with performing risk assessments and vulnerability analysis to advise business partners on remediation planning.
  • Currently enrolled in a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree program in cybersecurity or a related degree
  • Be returning to school in the Fall of 2024 to continue or complete degree program
