Information Security Compliance Intern

Job Location

Austin, TX (Hybrid - 1-2 days in person)

Job Overview

  • Gain experience in information security compliance and audit activities
  • Support information security tasks including general-controls management and documentation
  • Review and manage information security policies
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Utilize technology systems and tools to complete tasks

Compensation

  • Duration: Must be available at least 20 hours/week during the fall 2023 academic term, with potential to continue

Responsibilities

  • Support information security tasks related to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) financial audits
  • Manage general controls and write automated scripts for information security compliance
  • Review and help manage policy review/update process
  • Develop understanding of risk compliance applications
  • Coordinate and lead meetings with support from manager
  • Utilize technology systems such as Oracle, Excel, and Visual Basic Scripts (VBS)

Requirements

  • Education: Currently enrolled in a related degree program (Cybersecurity, Finance, Computer Science preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of information security technologies and compliance principles
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Strong problem-solving ability and time management skills
  • Intermediate Excel abilities
  • Professional oral and written communication skills
  • Available to work hybrid, 1-2 days from Itron's Austin, TX location
