Responsibilities

As a Food Science Intern, you will:

  • Successfully participate and interact on project teams.
  • Assist with the preparation of prototypes using various resources to bring product concepts to life.
  • Assess technical feasibility and identify product-related issues.
  • Identify formulation, ingredients, shelf life, potential suppliers, and lead times for commercialization.
  • Develop specifications for raw materials and finished products.
  • Participate in pilot plant trials and make necessary adjustments.
  • Manage product transition from development to the supply chain.
  • Support supply chain improvement projects.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you should have:

  • Junior status based on skills and coursework.
  • Coursework in Food Science.
  • Deep knowledge of and passion for product design and new product development.
  • Interest in emerging trends and understanding of consumer expectations.
  • Ability to execute projects and analyze research data/studies.
  • Ability to deliver data to support insights, techniques, and technologies for improvements.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
  • Success in interacting with cross-functional teams.
