Job Overview
BDO is seeking energetic self-starters with strong organizational skills to join our Assurance TPA practice as an Intern. In this role, you will utilize your educational background to assist our dynamic client base. You will work closely with experienced team members, gaining hands-on experience and valuable learning opportunities. This position will provide insight into the firm's practices and help you build relationships for future success in your career.
Compensation
The salary range for this position varies based on location:
- California Range: $31.00/hr - $39.00/hr
- Colorado Range: $33.00/hr - $35.00/hr
- New York City/ Valhalla Range: $32.00/hr - $36.00/hr
- Washington Range: $31.00/hr - $39.00/hr
Responsibilities
As an Intern in the Assurance TPA practice, your responsibilities will include:
- Testing and documenting internal control systems in various industries
- Participating in the review of internal controls
- Assisting in the preparation of reports and recommendations
- Preparing work papers in accordance with BDO policy
- Developing and maintaining relationships with engagement team and client personnel
- Applying your educational background to the work performed
- Other duties as required
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
Education
- High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent (required)
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program (required)
- Focus in Accounting or Information Systems (preferred)
Experience
- Leadership experience (preferred)
- Prior Internship or experience in public accounting or internal auditing (preferred)
Software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (required)
Other Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions as directed
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting
- Ability and willingness to travel, as needed (required)
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to successfully interact with professionals at all levels
