Job Overview

As an Intern in our Assurance practice, you will have the opportunity to utilize your educational background and organizational skills to serve our dynamic client base. Working alongside experienced team members, you will assist in problem-solving, fact-finding, and gaining hands-on experience. This internship will provide you with valuable insights into our firm's practices and people, while also allowing you to build critical relationships for your future success.

Compensation

  • California Range: $31.00/hr - $39.00/hr
  • Colorado Range: $22.00/hr - $30.00/hr
  • New York City/Valhalla Range: $32.00/hr - $36.00/hr
  • Washington Range: $31.00/hr - $36.00/hr

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a structured on-the-job training program and become familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards
  • Learn and utilize BDO's specific audit methodology throughout various stages of the audit process
  • Provide support functions to the audit staff during engagements
  • Communicate with clients' customers, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues
  • Prepare and document work in working papers using BDO's specific tools and templates
  • Contribute ideas and opinions to the audit teams and listen/respond to other team members' views
  • Complete one assigned accounting or audit-related research project and present findings to a panel of Assurance professionals
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements

  • Education:
    • Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting (required)
    • Pursuing a Master's degree in Accounting (preferred)
  • Experience:
    • Leadership experience (preferred)
  • License/Certifications:
    • Actively pursuing school credits to become a CPA
  • Software:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (required)
  • Other Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to follow instructions as directed
    • Ability to work effectively in a team setting
    • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
