Job Overview

The Transfer Pricing Intern works with a team of consulting economists to help multi-national companies correctly price their transactions between entities within their corporate group. This role involves analyzing economic conditions and industry trends, evaluating clients' intercompany transactions, and consulting with clients to establish or validate pricing between related parties. The position requires strong analytical, writing, and editing skills.

Compensation

Salary ranges vary based on location:

• California Range: $28.00/hr - $37.00/hr
• New York City/Valhalla Range: $32.00/hr - $36.00/hr
• Washington Range: $28.00/hr - $37.00/hr

Responsibilities

• Information Gathering
  • Conduct client interviews to collect information on inter-company transactions and related factors
  • Gather details on corporate structure, division of functional responsibilities, risk distribution, value drivers, industry overview, and historical context
• Financial Analysis
  • Analyze industry and financial data to benchmark or document appropriate intercompany pricing policies
  • Perform financial analysis for market penetration scenarios and intangible property valuation
  • Prepare project reports for clients, including approach, research, quantitative analysis, and final results
  • Present analysis and recommendations to clients and potential clients
• Report Writing
  • Write industry overviews and functional analyses for transfer pricing reports
  • Prepare detailed summaries from interview notes
  • Proofread and edit reports before delivery
  • Write technical memos describing the analytical process
• Other duties as required

Requirements

• Education:
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• Experience:
  • Leadership experience preferred
• Software:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Exceptional research and writing skills
  • Skilled in detailed reading, proofing, and editing highly technical material
  • Ability to independently produce initial drafts of project deliverables
  • Effective interpersonal skills and experience with presentations or public speaking
  • Professional and confident communication with clients
  • Strong analytical and basic research skills
  • Solid organizational skills with a focus on details
  • Ability to meet project deadlines in a deadline-driven environment
  • Capable of researching taxation topics and effectively communicating written analysis
  • Basic understanding of transfer pricing and willingness to learn more about the industry
