Job Overview

Join Itron, a leader in the rapidly evolving global industry, and be involved in software security fault analysis for utility meters, access points, and mesh network equipment distributed globally. As an intern, you will work within a large multinational corporation, guiding and setting corporate security standards to ensure product security.

Compensation

Starting Salary: State minimum wage - $34.62

Responsibilities

  • Perform various application security assessment activities, including penetration testing, code analysis, and code reviews.
  • Collaborate in the development of tools for automation.
  • Assist in implementing and integrating security in SDLC and DevOps pipelines.
  • Research and propose mitigation strategies for identified security vulnerabilities.
  • Educate the developer community on best practices and develop secure coding guidelines.
  • Evaluate application security tools for internal use.

Requirements

  • Education: Currently enrolled in a related degree program (Computer Science, Computer Engineering) with preference given to candidates who have completed multiple courses related to cybersecurity or information security.
  • Relevant programming experience in languages such as C, C++, Java, JavaScript, C# .NET, ASP.NET, Ruby, Objective C, Android, and TypeScript.
  • Basic understanding of cryptographic key algorithms and network security.
  • Familiarity with security fundamentals and strategies, including defense-in-depth methodology and C.I.A. security pillars.
  • Strong workplace communication skills.
  • Knowledge of web application and web service security vulnerabilities (e.g. OWASP Top 10 and CWE Top 25).
  • Availability for a minimum of 15 hours per week.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Familiarity with security testing tools for static analysis, dynamic analysis, and penetration testing.
  • Experience in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, and Python.
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps, IoT, and Container technologies.
