Job Overview

MKS Instruments is seeking an exceptional Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team. As a Data Engineer at MKS, you will work with large data sets and a variety of data sources to develop tools and datasets for applications integration and data ingestion. You will collaborate with business users and engineers to solve data management problems and build data architecture, pipelines, reporting, and exploration processes. This is an opportunity to contribute to a global provider of process control solutions and improve process performance for our customers.

Compensation

Hourly Pay Range: $18.00 to $28.00 per hour

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Implement data solutions to solve data management problems for various business needs
  • Build data architecture, pipelines, reporting, and exploration processes
  • Partner with business users and engineers to address broad business needs

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

##Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, Economics, Management, or another quantitative discipline field with a strong academic record

##Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to execute technical requirements for complex business requirements
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to partner with business reporting and engineering teams
  • Excitement for working with large data sets to design scalable and robust data solutions
  • Background in SQL and/or NoSQL data store design, including data modeling
  • Solid business acumen, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience implementing data-driven solutions and programming experience with at least one language (Python, C++, Java, Scala)
  • Familiarity with data storage formats such as RDBMS, Memory, Key/Value, Avro, Parquet, XML, JSON, CSV
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exposure to Big Data/Analytics platforms (AWS, Google, or Azure) and statistical analysis using Python, R, etc.
  • Relocation and temporary housing benefits may be available for this position
