Cloud Solutions Intern
Job Location
Hybrid internship with work from home and assigned office days set by your manager. The internship may be based out of NJ or TX. Relocation assistance may be available if required.
Job Overview
Verizon's award-winning Campus program offers internships, co-ops, and entry-level roles that allow you to shape your future in the technology and communications industry. As a Cloud Solutions intern, you will have the opportunity to work on projects related to 5G Technology, AR/VR and Computer Vision, Cloud Architecture, Cloud Computing, Network Features, Data, Source Control, and Network Architecture. This hybrid internship is designed to provide meaningful work and opportunities to network with professionals across the globe.

Responsibilities
- Work on projects related to cloud solutions in areas such as 5G Technology, AR/VR and Computer Vision, Cloud Architecture, Cloud Computing, Network Features, Data, Source Control, and Network Architecture.
- Collaborate with a team of professionals to deliver tangible business impact.
- Network with employees across the organization and establish meaningful relationships.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a degree program at Penn State and attending the Penn State IST Career Fair on 9/19.
- Availability to participate in a 10-week hybrid internship from June 3, 2024, to August 9, 2024.
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related fields with a completion date between December 2024 and June 2026.
- Coursework or demonstrated experience in scripting and coding (ex: Python, Java).
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
- Willingness to travel and work in an assigned Verizon office.
Even better if you have:
- Demonstrated strong written and communication skills.
- Experience in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
- Knowledge of Cloud Architecture & Cloud Computing (ex: Kubernetes, Docker, Redhat Openstack, Openshift, Aws, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of PI Management tools, event-driven design, and architecture (ex: Kafka, Spark Flink).
- Knowledge of Network Architecture Linux, transport layer, fabric, & orchestration.
- Familiarity with Data formats (JSON/YAML) & engineering (database, SQL).
- Familiarity with Source Control GitHub, marketplace.
