In this role, you will utilize your educational background and organizational skills to support our client base by preparing tax returns and extensions. Compensation

• California Range: $31.00/hr - $39.00/hr
• Colorado Range: $22.00/hr - $27.00/hr
• New York City/Valhalla Range: $32.00/hr
• Washington Range: $31.00/hr - $39.00/hr

Responsibilities

• Tax Compliance:

  • Ensure client compliance with applicable authorities while minimizing tax and reporting burdens
  • Adhere to Firm policies, standards, and the BDO Tax Quality Manual ("TQM")
  • Utilize referencing system and workpapers tied to the return
  • Complete tasks and organize files efficiently
  • Collect data to comply with filing requirements
  • Proactively manage due dates and engagement letters
  • Utilize tax software applications for simple tax returns
  • Perform quarterly estimates and prepare extensions
  • Assist in responding to notices from the Internal Revenue Service
  • Contribute to year-end filing projections

• ASC 740-10 (FAS 109 and FIN 48) Tax Accruals:

  • Apply Firm policies, standards, and the BDO Tax Quality Manual (TQM) to FAS 109 and FIN 48
  • Assist with components of income tax provisions

• Tax Consulting:

  • Develop and recommend efficient methods to maximize client benefits and decrease taxes
  • Utilize online research tools to gather relevant tax information
  • Stay updated on tax law and client factual developments
  • Communicate potential impacts of developments to client service team

• Other duties as required

Requirements

• Education:

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting or relevant field
  • Pursuing a Master's degree in Accounting or relevant field preferred

• Experience:

  • Leadership experience preferred

• License/Certifications:

  • Actively pursuing school credits to become a CPA

• Software:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Language:

  • N/A
