Description

Looking for a SUMMER 2016 intern and a FALL 2016 who enjoys book editing and evaluating and would like to work to build professional experience. Learn how the publishing process works from the perspective of a literary agent, consultant, published author, and professional editor. Work in a casual atmosphere on Whidbey Island just north of Seattle, WA. Editorial experience a must in fiction and nonfiction. Excellent opportunity for those interested in the book publishing field. Duration of three - six months.

Responsibilities

Read and evaluate incoming nonfiction and fiction manuscripts
Assist with editing books, book proposals, and publishing materials
Assist with editorial and consulting clients in various capacities
Other duties as assigned including blog writing

Requirements

Proficient in Word, track changes, and preferred knowledge of Chicago Manual of Style. Reliable and detail-oriented. Must have experience in the craft of fiction and read in multiple genres adult and YA
