Our **Electrical Engineering** discipline focuses on planning, designing, analyzing, and implementing electrical systems that support a wide variety of infrastructure, industrial, commercial, and institutional facilities. Staff in the electrical discipline possess a broad range of skills, including power distribution design, lighting systems, grounding and lightning protection systems, electrical equipment selection, control systems integration, and preparation of construction documents. Interns may perform and/or participate in additional activities/events which help them build a strong network within the Hanson community and with fellow interns. Internships may require travel to suppliers, customers, project sites, or other Hanson locations.
Key Responsibilities: Electrical Engineering interns will be expected to perform the following key responsibilities with supervision and assistance from a Hanson Professional Engineer:
- Assist with engineering analyses, design development, preparation of construction documents, and field investigations for a variety of projects.
- Perform and/or participate in additional activities/events that help them build a strong network within the Hanson community and with fellow interns.
Qualifications:
- Must be actively enrolled in an electrical engineering degree program.
- The ideal candidate will have successfully completed their sophomore year and be actively enrolled in a 4-year college or university, with coursework directly related to the position for which they are applying.
- Students who have completed more than 60 hours of coursework applicable to their degree and have a strong drive to gain experience in the electrical engineering field will be considered.
Key requirements are listed but not limited to the following:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Productive written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Valid driver's license
The hourly range for this position is $21-$26 for undergraduates.
