Role
The Accounting Intern supports the CFO by performing basic accounting duties, assisting with financial record-keeping, and gaining exposure to tax preparation and compliance. This role provides practical experience in financial operations, reporting, and tax-related processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing and maintaining financial records and reports
- Perform data entry of financial transactions into accounting software
- Help reconcile bank statements and accounts
- Support accounts payable and receivable processes
- Assist in preparing invoices, expense reports, and journal entries
- Organize and file financial documents (physical and digital)
- Help with month-end and year-end closing activities
- Conduct basic financial analysis and research as needed
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Assist with preparation of tax documents and filings
- Support tax research and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Help organize and maintain tax records and documentation
- Assist during tax season with data collection and entry
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and time-management skills
