Job Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Secretarial Team within the Dermatology Department for a Band 2 Administration Assistant. The post holder will be required to provide an efficient administrative service to the clinicians and their teams.

The successful candidate will work within a team of secretarial staff, but also have the ability to work independently. They will be required to follow Policies and Procedures. The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, flexibility, reliability and must have an organised approach to work.

Responsibilities To provide and maintain an efficient and effective administration service to the Dermatology Secretarial team. Contribute to the delivery a consistently high standard of patient care as part of the multi-disciplinary team. Person specification

Qualifications & Education Essential criteria Good standard of English and Maths at GCSE or equivalent at grade C or above or equivalent or equivalent level experience Desirable criteria ECDL computer qualification Knowledge & Experience Desirable criteria NHS software packages. o Knowledge of SystmOne, eRecord

Experience working in a patient/public environment in an administration or clerical role Previous experience working within the NHS Skills & Abilities Essential criteria Keyboard skills with a sound knowledge of computers Good communication skills both written verbal and telephone skills Team-worker / ability to work unsupervised.
