About Nu

We're on a mission to help great digital media orgs thrive in a world where AI search has disrupted discovery and social platforms command such a large share of attention. Our first product, TEND, is a platform for multiplying the reach and scale of premium content. TEND automagically transforms content (article, video, podcast) into a dozen new, native, platform-perfect assets to reach audiences where they are spending time.

The Opportunity

This is an educational internship designed for students and recent graduates who want hands-on experience building AI-powered tools at an early-stage startup. You'll work directly with our founders, learning to develop with modern AI tools while contributing to TEND's core functionality.

What You'll Learn

  • Leveraging AI coding assistants and LLMs for real development workflows including Claude Code, Codex, Agentic setup, MCPs and skills.
  • Building production applications using Python, React, Tailwind CSS, PostgreSQL, and FastAPI
  • Designing information flows and understanding LLM capabilities and limitations
  • Working with automation platforms (n8n, Zapier, Make) and API integrations
  • Git workflows, code review processes, and collaborative development
  • How early-stage startups ship products and iterate quickly

What We're Looking For

  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools for development (show us what you've built)
  • Basic understanding of GitHub and version control
  • Familiarity with LLMs and prompt engineering concepts
  • Curiosity about automation tools and API integrations
  • Willingness to both teach and learn—we're adopting new tools constantly
  • Current student or recent graduate eager to gain startup experience

Program Structure

This internship is structured around your learning. You'll participate in weekly 1:1 mentorship sessions with founders, regular co-teaching sessions where the team shares new discoveries, and hands-on project work with direct feedback. The 3-month program may lead to a full-time role based on mutual fit.

Details

  • Location: Remote with occasional in-person collaboration (LA, NYC, SF preferred)
  • Team: You'll work alongside 2 founders and a network of industry advisors
