About the role
Nepternship is connecting qualified students with a potential AI internship opportunity at a leading AI lab in New York. A role would offer hands-on exposure to large language models, model evaluation, and applied machine learning research across active production systems. Interns could work directly alongside research scientists, ML engineers, and product teams and gain real-world experience in artificial intelligence that goes well beyond the classroom.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth technical research, model benchmarking, and literature review to support active research directions
- Draft evaluation reports, experiment writeups, and technical memos for review by research scientists
- Assist with dataset curation, fine-tuning experiments, and model evaluation across live systems
- Prepare materials for research reviews, paper submissions, and launch readiness milestones
- Collaborate with research and engineering teams on experiment design and model deployment
Qualifications
- Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related technical major
- Strong programming skills (Python, PyTorch, or similar)
- Familiarity with machine learning fundamentals and transformer architectures
- Experience with research projects, Kaggle, or open source a plus
Pay
$40.00 - $50.00 per hour
