Role Description The Basketball Director (seasonal) is a full-time, on-site role based in Dallas, TX, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the basketball program at St. Philip's School and Community Center. This role includes planning and leading basketball practices, coordinating game schedules, managing team logistics, and supervising coaching staff and volunteers.
The Basketball Director will develop age-appropriate training plans, foster positive sportsmanship, and ensure a safe, inclusive environment for student-athletes. Daily responsibilities also involve communicating with families and school staff, maintaining equipment and facilities, and aligning the basketball program with the school’s educational and community-focused mission.
Qualifications Experience in Athletic Administration, including program coordination, scheduling, and compliance. Background in Physical
Education and player development, with the ability to design safe, skill-building activities. Proven Coaching experience, demonstrating leadership, mentorship, and positive team culture building. Strong knowledge of Basketball fundamentals, strategy, and rules at youth or interscholastic levels.
Familiarity with Intercollegiate Athletics or competitive sports environments is beneficial. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations and families in a community-focused setting. Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Coaching, or a related field preferred. CPR/First Aid certification and adherence to all safety and child protection standards.
