Job Overview

BBC News is offering a three-month internship in its Washington, DC newsroom. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in journalism and news production to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced international newsroom. Interns will work alongside BBC journalists, supporting newsgathering and production while contributing content for the BBC's Digital, Social, Television, and Radio platforms, serving audiences in the UK and around the world. The internship will begin as soon as the selected candidates are available and will run for approximately three months. Interns are expected to work Monday-Friday approximately 20 hours per week under the supervision of experienced Journalists and Senior Journalists.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a junior or senior at an accredited college or university.
  • Pursuing a degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
  • Able to commit to approximately 20 hours per week for the duration of the internship.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • International students must have a valid student visa and be authorized to participate in an internship in accordance with U.S. immigration regulations.

Compensation

Interns will receive a $20 daily stipend for commuting expenses.
