ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Flexible Duration: Typically 3 months, with flexibility for 2–4 months depending on availability. We welcome both students and non-students, as long as the commitment is a minimum of 2–3 months. Students: We are happy to work with academic advisors to support internships for credit.
Stipend: Interns receive a stipend, adjusted based on full-time (5 days a week) vs. part-time (3 days a week) participation. The stipend is usually $1000 a month (full time) or $500 a month (part time).
Travel Support: A monthly travel stipend is provided to help offset commuting costs. For certain roles, remote participation is accepted.
On-Site Compensation: Any on-site work outside of the standard intern schedule is paid at $25/hour.
No Out-of-Pocket Costs: Interns will not incur personal expenses in order to participate in the program.
Office Perks: Snacks in the office and food provided during on-site events.
Mentorship & Experience: Opportunities for mentorship, hands-on experience, and close collaboration with the Sequence team.
ABOUT CANDIDATES
We are looking for in-person interns for the upcoming season! Exciting opportunities await as we tackle in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, and are eager for you to join our team and help us get there. We currently have multiple internships available in full-time and part-time formats: Business Development Operations.
As part of our internship program, each intern will have weekly 1:1 meetings with their department head to provide guidance, feedback, and mentorship, ensuring a supportive and engaging learning experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT INTERN MAY INCLUDE:
- Identify prospective new clients
- Research events and participating companies, speakers + sponsors
- Create spreadsheets to compile information about new prospective clients for solicitation
- Investigate on LinkedIn and other social media platforms to identify information mentioned above
- Sit in on some meetings with new clients to see how the pitch + biz dev life cycle works
- Assist with tasks, as needed, in support of business proposal creation
Note: Proficiency with Mac, Keynote, Excel and Google Suite. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and familiarity with LinkedIn are not required, but a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR OPERATIONS INTERN MAY INCLUDE:
- Assisting with miscellaneous office/facilities tasks (organizing supplies, sorting packages and mail, recycling initiatives, managing snacks and inventory, etc.)
- Helping plan, prep, set up, and clean up staff events like in-office birthday parties and celebrations, staff meetings, and off-site happy hours
- Assisting with the creation and editing of freelancer/contractor agreements
- Manage calendar invites for staff meetings and Ops Team meetings, taking notes and helping with action items as-needed
- Assist the Operations Teams with ad hoc projects (researching DEI, sustainability, and volunteerism efforts, honing our current systems and project management tools, etc.)
- Intro to the HR world including people management and recruiting, creating and distributing staff surveys to gather feedback and improve company culture and daily office operations
