Clinical Social Work Intern: Mental Health Field Experience
Position Description
The Excellent Healthcare Services Internship program introduces students to the clinical aspect of social work in terms of mental health counseling and treatment. Interns gain practical experience through projects, clinical shadowing, special assignments, research, policies and best practices in the prevention and treatment of behavioral health disorders within a community based agency. Students selected as Excellent Healthcare Services interns will use their specific skills and knowledge while experiencing the value of education. Each intern will work under the close guidance and supervision of a Licensed Social Worker who will serve as their task manager and/or field supervisor.
Eligibility
- Be either a first year or second year student in a graduate social work program at an accredited university or college.
- Be on a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 Scale in their undergraduate or last semester of graduate program.
- Recent graduates may apply if their application is within 12 months of their graduation.
