About SBED
Small Business and Entrepreneurship Development (SBED) is a state and grant-funded division within CSN dedicated to helping established entrepreneurs and businesses across Nevada. Through its economic gardening program, SBED connects business owners to market research, data-driven insights, and strategic tools that help businesses grow and create jobs. SBED also provides peer counseling, educational workshops, networking opportunities, and specialized services designed to strengthen and scale small businesses.
What our office does
The CSN Entrepreneurship Center, operated through SBED at the North Las Vegas campus, is a hub for innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial learning. The Center provides students with opportunities to develop business ideas, build entrepreneurial skills, and gain real-world experience through workshops, mentoring, competitions, and hands-on learning opportunities.
Position Description
This position supports students, staff, and the SBED team by:
- Greeting and assisting students visiting the CSN Entrepreneurship Center, including managing student sign-in, maintaining the cleanliness of the space, and monitoring the use of computers and other equipment
- Assisting with the preparation of marketing materials, social media content, and promotional flyers
- Promoting SBED programs, events, and Entrepreneurship Center resources to the CSN community
- Setting up the Entrepreneurship Center for workshops, meetings, and special events, while providing basic technical support for presenters and guests as needed
- Assisting with the setup and execution of on-campus events and outreach activities
- Performing other duties as assigned by the SBED Director

Wages under this position are paid from Work Study awards administered by the CSN Financial Aid Department. To maintain eligibility, students must:
- Show a financial aid eligible major (degree or certificate program) declared with the CSN Office of the Registrar.
- Meet Financial Aid Satisfactory Progress after each semester/term to qualify for employment within the academic year.
- Show degree compliant enrollment for each semester/term for which funding is desired.
