Program & Outreach Intern (LA-Based)

Fall 2026

September 1 - December 4, 2026

Academic internship for students seeking school credit through real-world nonprofit experience. Open to students 18+ enrolled in a college or university internship program. Students with specific hour or scheduling requirements are welcome to note their availability in the application.

Overview

This is a general program internship. Rather than one fixed role, you'll rotate through different parts of what makes HMA run over the course of the semester, including music teaching and mentorship, grant research, community outreach, and social media support. What you're focused on will shift depending on where we are in the semester, so you'll build experience across the org rather than sticking to just one lane. Music-minded interns will have the chance to co-teach and mentor students directly as sessions come online.

**Location:** Los Angeles area, hybrid

**Hours:** 8-15 hours/week, flexible based on school requirements

**Languages:** English required, Spanish helpful
