About the role

SUMMARY

The Criminal Justice Internship provides students pursuing a Criminal Justice degree with the opportunity to work with local Reentry Coalitions, the Division of Probation & Parole, and their local Sheriff's Office; assist formerly incarcerated individuals with job seeking, placement, and retention; learn about assets and barriers to the justice-involved; and participate in services that acclimate the justice-impacted back into the community. The goal of this position is to educate a student who will eventually be working in the criminal justice system about the assets, barriers, and gaps that justice-impacted individuals face and projects available to navigate those.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience: - Participants must be a full-time/part-time student pursuing a degree in the Criminal Justice field.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: - Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation, or otherwise be able to travel between agency locations as required for the position.

Screenings: - Employment is contingent upon a successful completion of a background check and satisfactory driving record verification.
