Role
The College of Humanities, Education and the Arts seeks an adjunct faculty member to supervise one or more graduate level interns within a classroom setting where teacher candidates practice the knowledge and skills of a professional educator including observation, planning, instruction, assessment, and reflection. Adjunct faculty supervisors are hired on a contractual, part-time basis, to supervise student interns for specified quarters throughout an academic year. Observations may be online or in person, depending on the placement site.
Requirements
- Terminal degree in related field, along with excellent teaching skills across various classroom settings
- A personal commitment to Christian faith, enthusiasm about supporting SPU's mission, alignment with the University's Statement of Faith, and willingness to accept the lifestyle standards of the Christian community
- A comfortability discussing the intersection of faith and education with students
Compensation
Rate of pay is dependent on level of program (undergraduate/graduate) and number of interns the adjunct faculty member will be supervising.
