We are seeking highly motivated PhD candidates in Electrical Engineering to join our engineering team. This internship offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research while working alongside experienced engineers on real-world semiconductor design challenges.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the research, design, simulation, and optimization of advanced electrical and electronic systems.
- Support the development of Analog, Mixed-Signal, RF, or Digital circuit designs based on project requirements.
- Perform circuit modeling, simulation, and verification using industry-standard EDA tools.
- Contribute to silicon validation, laboratory testing, characterization, and performance analysis.
- Analyze experimental data and recommend design improvements.
- Develop automation scripts for simulation, testing, and data analysis using Python, MATLAB, or similar tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams including design, verification, layout, and test engineers.
- Present technical findings through reports and engineering reviews.
- Participate in research discussions and contribute innovative ideas to ongoing projects.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a PhD in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Strong academic background in one or more of the following:
- Analog Circuit Design
- Mixed-Signal IC Design
- RF/Microwave Engineering
- Digital IC Design
- Semiconductor Devices
- VLSI Design
- Signal Processing
- Power Electronics
- Experience with circuit simulation and EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, ADE, or similar.
- Knowledge of semiconductor device fundamentals and CMOS technologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative engineering team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Research publications in IEEE journals or conferences.
- Experience with advanced semiconductor technologies or custom IC design.
- Hands-on laboratory experience involving measurement equipment and silicon validation.
- Programming or scripting experience using Python, MATLAB, Tcl, SKILL, or C/C++.
- Familiarity with layout concepts, DRC/LVS verification, and post-layout simulations.
- Experience with machine learning applications in circuit design is a plus.
