Baker Hughes Internship Program

The Baker Hughes Internship is designed to enable students pursuing a Bachelors' or Masters' degree to gain hands-on work experience as the foundation of their professional lives. Our internships will give you first-hand insights into the processes, systems, and practices that are aligned to ensure customer needs are met through flawless execution and the application of leading-edge technology. You'll participate in focused training, and team meetings, work on projects, and present your results.

During your internship, you will be supported by a buddy and your manager who will ensure you have a valuable learning experience. You can expect to receive coaching and mentoring to enable you to complete assignments and projects to develop your learning and skillset. You will also have the opportunity to become familiar with the Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) and culture of Baker Hughes as well as our strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

The internship is intended to enable Bachelor's or Master's students to gain practical work experience as a basis for their professional life and, depending on their performance, can be the starting point for a further career. The duration should be 3-6 months.

Responsibilities

As an Intern, you will be responsible for:

  • Completing internal projects to deliver customer outcomes and identify business improvements
  • Learning internal software to assist with the completion of projects and tasks
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and interns to interact and network with global business leaders
  • Applying Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) standards and procedures in all situations to ensure compliance is maintained

  • Geology
  • Geosciences
  • Geophysics
  • Other related study programs

Topics

Topics are diverse, e.g. from the fields of:

  • Petrophysics
  • Geothermal
  • Modelling & Simulation
  • Algorithm Development
  • Data Processing and Interpretation
  • Other topics are also possible, by arrangement

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Active enrolment in a degree program in the above-mentioned fields
  • Spatial imagination, technical understanding, analytical thinking, willingness to learn, interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team and make contributions
  • Ability to find problem and solution approaches and have the necessary analytical and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of C/C++, Matlab, Python is an advantage
  • The language of communication can be German or preferably English
  • The duration should be at least 3 months
  • Entry can be as early as possible
