DESCRIPTION OF WORK This internship supports key environmental health research that helps guide public health actions across Pennsylvania.

The role involves analyzing health data, identifying patterns, and assisting with research projects focused on environmental exposures. As an Environmental Health Epidemiology Intern, you will perform the following duties: Research Support: Assist with projects that examine health outcomes and environmental risk factors Radon Analysis: Support research on residential radon exposure and lung cancer through data and spatial analysis Data Management: Clean, validate, link, and analyze large health datasets using approved software tools Data Visualization: Create maps, tables, and graphics that highlight trends and patterns in health data Report Preparation: Help prepare technical reports, manuscripts, presentations, and other communications Emergency Response: Assist with public health emergency response assignments when needed Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: This is a part-time internship for a duration of up to one year, starting in August or September 2026. Flexible work hours, Monday - Friday, with a minimum of 20 hours per week Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements: You must be currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor's degree program or higher.

You must have good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher). You must hold Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university. Additional Requirement: You must be able to perform essential job functions.
