Responsibilities Primary
Duties and Responsibilities: Act as a studio aid by assisting students with questions in lower-level courses that includes clothing construction and patterning Be alert to student needs and questions during open studio time Assist faculty members in Fashion Design and Fashion Merchandising area with class preparation from cutting swatches and muslin Oversee basic machine maintenance such as replacing threads and needles of industrial sewing machines and sergers Keep fashion studio organized by putting away slopers and tools and upkeep of the classroom. Student must be available to work consistent days of the week/times throughout the semester, maximum of 5 hours per week .
Required Qualifications Required Qualifications; The student should be proficient at sewing on an industrial lockstitch machine and serger The student should have strong knowledge of clothing pattern design and construction The student should be observant, possess critical thinking skills, and have good judgement The student must be courteous, respectful, professional, responsible, trustworthy, and able to work independently Required
Education Must be enrolled as a student at Belmont University in the Fashion Department. Must be Sophomore level or above. Required
Experience Must be comfortable using and maintaining industrial sewing machines and sergers.
