Role
The City of Kirkwood, Missouri is currently searching for one candidate to participate in our paid summer Urban Forestry Internship! In this challenging and rewarding position, you will assist the Urban Forester with day-to-day operations and management of Kirkwood's urban forest.
Key Accountabilities
The summer internship program will provide participants with the opportunity to explore multiple aspects of urban forestry including:
- Tree watering
- Tree risk assessments
- Tree surveys using a GIS management software
- Project plan review
- Construction site inspections to ensure contractor compliance
- Tree planting planning
- General management of an urban forestry program
Requirements
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in Forestry, Landscaping, Natural Resources, or related field is preferred, but not required. Training will be provided.
Schedule and Compensation
- Summer Internship: August through October, some flexibility available
- Full Time: Monday through Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM, some flexibility available
- Pay: $15.00 an hour
