Graduate Assistants will receive $10,000 for a 10‑month appointment (paid bi‑weekly) and a scholarship of $6,000 ($3,000 each semester). Duties

Assist the Campus Recreation Department in a manner consistent with the goals of the department, Division of Student Affairs, and the mission of Sam Houston State University. Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate student staff. Supervise Esports events and the Esports Lab during evenings and weekends.

Assist with marketing and promoting the Esports Program. Evaluate and recommend changes for Esports activities and staff as needed. Create leagues and schedules for Esports events and participants.

Assist with purchasing, inventory, and maintenance of equipment. Collect and track relevant information for Esports competitive teams such as rosters, participation numbers, and results. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Sport Management, or a related field. Candidates must have knowledge/experience in Esports or sports management, strong human relations skills, and acceptance into SHSU graduate school. CPR/First Aid Certification is preferred.
