Graphic Design Intern

image.works is a marketing firm serving financial institutions, healthcare organizations and education institutions nationwide. We are looking for a detail-oriented graphic design intern with a strong sense of aesthetics, layout composition, technical design and typography to add to our high-caliber team. Candidates must be fast, accurate workers and will be responsible for executing the production of projects, maintaining creative standards as set forth by the art director and design team, and ensuring the graphic integrity of deliverables.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and edit a variety of promotional materials, which may include digital marketing ads, annual reports, brochures, direct mail pieces, logos, newsletters, posters, emails, landing pages, motion graphic animations and more
• Assist other designers with internal and client changes
• Use expertise in design and computer applications to review final designs and layouts
• Help upload files to data asset management site
• Help with image editing
• Create and produce accurate and comprehensive electronic layout files
• Maintain organized files and job notes on critical design details for future reference
• Work on numerous projects at once, often under demanding deadlines

Qualifications

• Graduating by June 2027
• Excellent organizational, time management and multitasking skills
• Knowledge of principles of design including layout, typography, color, balance and composition
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Software requirements: Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office
• Must be able to work on a Mac-based computer
• Positive creative energy and ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of four-color, spot and digital printing processes and prepress requirements
• Experience with HTML and web content management software
• Understanding of direct mail and variable data processes
• Motion graphics animation experience using Adobe After Effects
