Health Equity Intern (College)

THE POSITIONThe Health Equity Intern position with the Department of Health (DOH) offers a chance to support important projects that aim to reduce health disparities across Pennsylvania. This role allows you to learn from experienced professionals while helping identify needs in communities. You will take part in work that strengthens communication, research, and collaboration across the department.

You will help gather information, organize materials, and contribute to efforts that promote fair access to health services. As a Health Equity Intern, you will perform the following duties:Research Support: Develop evaluation plans and assist with data collection to identify health disparitiesCommunication Assistance: Apply written, oral, and digital communication methods for various tasksMeeting Participation: Attend stakeholder meetings and summarize key pointsPublication Review: Review and help format publications and policies related to health equityProject Work: Complete assigned intern projects that support office goalsRelationship Building: Develop connections with bureaus across the departmentInterested in learning more?

Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Part-time internship, 20 hours per week, lasting 5 months (September to February)Work hours will be decided during the hiring process.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
