Job Summary

Responsible for assisting the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) teacher(s) in providing a well‑organized, smoothly functioning educational environment in which students with cognitive, physical, communication and emotional disabilities can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resources, under the direct supervision of a Highly Qualified Teacher.

Education, Training & Experience

• Associate Degree; completion of 60 semester hours of college or a passing score of 457 on the Para Pro Assessment. Information about Para Pro can be located .org/parapro.
• Conditions of Employment may be considered for highly qualified candidates who are willing to complete Para Pro testing during the 2023‑2024 school year.

Certificates, Licenses & Registrations

Satisfactory completion required within 6‑month period of the following training and/or certification provided by the District:

• Pediatric First Aid / Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) / Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
• First Aid
• Medication administration
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)

In addition, CPR and First Aid training must be completed every two years and CPI training must be kept current and renewed on an annual basis.
