PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

SAP's Global Communications (GC) team positions SAP and its leaders as innovators with influential audiences on select, highly relevant topics. Our strategy is to disrupt the information environment with relentless curiosity, compelling content, and rapid execution.

This internship will be supporting the Asia Pacific (APAC) GC team. As a member of this team, you will be exposed to different aspects of SAP's corporate communications functions such as media relations; industry analyst relations; content creation; executive and employee communications.

The goal of this internship is to provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience from working on integrated communications projects for the Asia Pacific region, comprising Southeast Asia, Greater China, Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and India, as key markets.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

The successful candidate will play an active role in the planning and execution of external and internal communications activities across APAC. You will participate in the implementation of communication campaigns – including employee, executive, and partner communications, content creation, from conceptualisation to execution and designing the best storytelling strategies across traditional and social media channels, and in the process, gain insights to the global communications field of work in a fast-paced, multinational organisation.

Examples of your day-to-day responsibilities may include but not limited to the following:

  • Supporting the creation and distribution of public relations (PR) content, including media pitches, press releases, by-line articles, blogs, etc.
  • Creating infographics, videos (filming and editing), internal announcements, social media posts, powerpoint presentations, executive briefing documents, and visual reports
  • Providing logistics support and staffing of internal and external communication events
  • Assisting with reporting and documentation, including simple graphic design and visual enhancements, of media activities and coverage
  • Coordinating regional guidance and reporting with local market unit (MU) communications leaders, from APAC Communications hub
  • Taking the lead on our internal APAC ONE Newsletter, which is sent out monthly to all APAC employees. Activities may include content collation, creating newsletter layout, sending out the newsletter and updating relevant APAC SharePoint site as well as strategising and gathering feedback to ensure constant relevance and improvements
  • Assisting with organisation of internal events, including townhalls, coffee corners, and/or webinars

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

We are looking for candidates who dare to challenge conventional wisdom, offer unique perspectives, and conceive innovative solutions, especially with AI tools, to effectively bridge the communication gap with influential audiences.

  • Currently pursuing a diploma, degree, or masters in: Digital Media, Mass Communications, Marketing, Computer Science, Political Science, Business, English Language/Literature, or related fields
  • Strong oral and written English skills
  • Critical thinker and problem solver with attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Tech savvy self-starter with a proactive approach and keenness to learn and share
  • Team player eager to partner with other colleagues and contribute to the team's success
  • Prior experience in communications, marketing, content editing, multi-media design or video production (filming and editing) will be an advantage
