Role

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Interior Design Intern to join our creative team! This paid internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in residential interior design projects, collaborating with seasoned professionals to bring innovative spaces to life. As an Interior Design Intern, you will assist in developing design concepts, creating detailed drawings, and supporting project management activities. This role is perfect for passionate individuals eager to expand their skills in a fast-paced, inspiring environment while contributing to meaningful renovation and remodeling projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing interior design concepts for residential projects, including space planning and aesthetic detailing
  • For key projects, learn how each Designer develops his/her own budget, Design Sheet, and any other plans needed to ensure that profit optimization occurs.
  • Create detailed drafting and construction documentation using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and/or Chief Architect.
  • Produce 3D modeling and renderings for architectural visualization using SketchUp, 3ds Max, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Partner with each designer to coordinate and communicate with subcontractors, suppliers and clients to ensure the prompt start of all assigned projects.
  • Print and set up the job binders for the construction team and ensure that they accurately represent the work to be done before the project starts.
  • Learn QuickBooks in order to complete invoices and sales receipts / be a salesperson in the showroom, greeting each client and research furniture /furnishings requests they may have.
  • Assist with resetting the showroom and ticketing when items are sold or added to inventory.
  • Assist with the staging and de-staging of homes we have listed for sale.
  • Act as a representative of NTH DEGREE in the community.
  • Stay current on industry trends
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships with all company employees. This includes all customers, contractors, clients, suppliers, etc.
  • Perform any other related or unrelated, unassigned, unspecified, unusual or special duty the Director may assign from time to time.

Requirements

Education

  • Currently enrolled in recent graduate of an interior design, architecture, or related professional art or design program.
  • Required - High School or equivalent.

Working Conditions

This person will work a portion of time in the office, which is a smoke-free temperature-controlled environment with little noise. Outside time will be spent in the open visiting client sites which can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter, hazardous, noisy and dusty. Other outside time will include visits to clients, and association /vendor meetings, which may require travel by air or automobile. These locations are visited throughout the year and during all weather conditions. Available to work a flexible schedule 1 week Mon- Fri / Following week Tues- Sat

Pay

$15.00 - $17.00 per hour
